DJ Neerav: The Art of Listening and Transforming

When night embraces Förena Cité Thermale and breaths merge with sounds, a journey begins where music becomes breath, rhythm, and life. Le Souffle des Sons is not just an evening—it’s a sensory voyage where every note converses with the thermal cycle, the light, and the souls present. DJ Neerav reveals his craft: prepare with care, listen with intuition, then let magic arise in the moment. Here, music doesn’t fill the space—it transforms it.

Q1: How do you prepare your sets for an evening like Le Souffle des Sons?

“I prepare by researching music and creating playlists, then testing them at home for hours, over and over. After that, I improvise when I show up to play. But the groundwork has to be done beforehand so I feel comfortable doing it!”

Q2: Do you adapt your set to the natural rhythms of the place (sunset, temperature, ambiance of the baths)?

“Great question. Yes, what I play and when I play it are absolutely influenced by all those factors: the season, the time of day, who’s there, the lunar cycle, and so on. I consider my ability to ‘listen’ to what needs to happen as one of my greatest strengths. It’s part of who I am, but it’s also been refined through years of practice. So it’s a dance—listening, sensing, responding, again and again. That can create something far more satisfying than just showing up and pressing play.”

Q3: How can music support a process of healing or inner reconnection, in your view?

“Before I was a DJ, I was a dancer. I studied dance, tai chi, martial arts, then shamanism and healing for decades. For me, silence and sound are inseparable, just like movement and stillness. That’s why sound baths are so powerful, as well as dancing in water or feeling the dance of the elements during Aufguss rituals.
The power of music is to act as a container or a channel for emotions and energy. It creates a story. It allows us to connect more easily to emotions—whether to release them, ignite them, or feel peaceful. Our body and being are made of frequencies (each organ has its own frequency or ‘song,’ and together it’s like an orchestra). We naturally tend to tune into our environment almost effortlessly. So when you provide a healing, healthy environment, the body and mind follow. Music touches us so deeply—it goes straight to the heart of what we need to experience.”

Q4: Have you observed transformations in people throughout the evening, linked to this multisensory immersion?
“All the time! It’s one of the most rewarding parts of the evening for me. Every time a guest comes to thank me deeply, I always feel that’s my greatest reward. If they leave transformed, mission accomplished.”

In this immersion, music becomes a language capable of guiding inner reconnection. Between silence and vibration, it opens spaces where we rediscover ourselves, where we let go. Each set becomes a story written with elements and emotions—a subtle dance between water, light, and breath. And when faces light up at the end of the night, we know that Le Souffle des Sons is much more than an event: it’s a breath that connects us, a celebration of harmony between body, mind, and nature.
